A story about "Little Caesars"..

about 23 years ago I was in Vegas to bet on the Superbowl. I can't remember who was playing, but the line was a solid 7 all over town. The owners of Little Caesars decided to take a shot at getting a lot of action. They posted -6'@-110 and +7'@-110 (essentially giving up the middle). The number of people waiting to bet into this line was in the hundreds (including me) and they didn't have a limit. This was the place Bob Stupack (sp) was said to have bet a million on a superbowl (not this one).

Anyway, the middle didn't hit, so they made a bundle. But can you imagine the books nowdays with their corporate mentality doing something like this? As an afterthought, I've often wondered if that middle had hit, would they have had the money to payoff, or just go bankrupt? We'll never know!
