I think the problem has been fixed!

Not too long ago I made a change to our posting software that would make it to where you only had to enter your username and password in one forum and all other forums would know your username and password when you post. Unfortunately that feature enabled a bug in the software.

Imagine your SSB cookie has 15 entries in it. You go to the General Forum. The cookie still has 15 entries. You read one post in the General Forum. The software deletes an entry in the cookie and for no apparent reason; the cookie shouldn't even be read there, much less written to. Now your SSB cookie has 14 entries. You read another post in the General Forum. You lose another entry. You read 13 more posts and your cookie is emptied. Now no forums remember the last time you have visited and your username and password combination is forgotten.

Now I realize why some people were experiencing problems while others weren't; not everyone reads the posts on the General Forum.

The configuration setting has been reverted to the old value. You will have to re-enter your username and password for each board, but only once.

Stanford deserves most of the thanks; he realized that cookies were being deleted while he was browsing SSB.
