9 to 17 to 11 in minutes

A half hour ago I had 9 SSB cookies. Then I visited most SSB pages to see how recently I had posted messages to them. Then I again asked for a count of cookies, and was told 17. Now, just a few minutes later, the count of SSB cookies on my computer has dropped to 11. Something is definitely wrong about the number of SSB cookies on my computer.
