Procedure for bet withdrawl?

Posted By: John May

I made a pick on the soccer board yesterday, that involved a recommendation to hedge the bet at half-time. I pulled the post when I reallized that it would not in fact be possible to hedge the bet due to lack of interest in the betting exchages causing no in-runing market to be offered.
It now occurs to me that this may look as if I was manipulating my posts in order to make it appear I have a better record than was apparent. However, I did want to prevent others being left with excessive liabilities in the unlikely event sizeable numbers of people were following my advice.
So, my question is, when new information enters the market invalidating a pick or bet recommendation, what procedure should be followed?
It would seem obvious to post an amendment to the original post, but time doesn't always permit that as in the above case.
