have made the bet myself because I actually rated West Brom and Sheff Utd better than West Ham. Therefore I couldnt back West Ham giving up points to superior teams.

There seems to be a trend in Div 1 where teams can run away with the league so it could still turn out to be a good bet. My fear though would be that if West Ham play well in the first half of the season that they will lose more of their players in the mid season transfer window.
