my take on Arsenal

It is very rare that you will see me disagreeing with Bri about soccer picks. As I said last year his picks showed great potential and judging by them only he could bring home the best ROI out of the pickers inthis site (of course then I changed my mind because Bri stopped posting picks for sme time whilst Uk's picks and commentary has persuaded me more).

So Bri,don't take my comments the wrong way, I know you do your research before you post a pick and that you aren't throwing darts.

I am selecting to answer here just to show why Dinamo Kiev isn't a pick of mine this week, or will only be a small play and why I don't like Arsenal.

I have seen Dinamo last year: The only team that I can say got much less than what they deserved against the Toon. We played in St James Park for the 5th match of first group stage and a win for the Toon would keep us alive in the quest to become the first ever team to start a group phase with 3 straight losses and advance. NUFC played beter most of the game but Dinamo could make do with a draw and they played very good the defend-and-break game and got the first goal on a PERFECT execution of such game. It was the typical match to show what a big handicap British teams have to overcome in European competitions to aschieve. However, great HFA,good play and a very 'helpful' referee helped the Toon ovrcome thwe 0-1 deficit to win that 2-1. Dinamo could have even won it and us be talking for 'a bit unlucky' NUFC, that 'deserved at least a bit better'. No Sheva anymore, but still a good team. the fact I missed posting them as a pick in Milan doesn't mean I don't rate them anymore. Point is Dinamo are good. They also know what it takes to succed in Europe. They don't come off a big derby like the Arse, their HFA is perhaps second only to the Turkish teams, they also have more points and could possibly make do with a draw. I can't take Arsenal at this spot at -110. But wait a minute: Why not take Dinamo? Well the handicap line for them looks like a 65% bet capping-wise,certainly too good to be true. What is the catch?

No Nike and it is a chunk bet on Dinamo +.5. Traditionally the weakest teams in Uefa links, the eastern European teams might face a mountain to climb sometimes. If they win this one, Nike's investment on the Arse is destroyed. Expect the ref to do miracles for Arsenal. Draw is the furthest they can afford in this one,not a Dinamo win. Of course this is far from a certainty that ref/Dinamo players/etc will be bribed or something, but simply you must take these factors into account, otherwise you beter borrow and bet on Dinamo. The line does not make any sense as it is. I think it is best to pass on such games, although my mouth waters seeing the odds for Dinamo.
