Most of the time everything is easy to 'explain' after 'good' results. Not this one. I keep making some weird plays or plain bad. I want to think last year I was unlucky with record but if I wasn't and we call last year 'normal' then I indeed am VERY lucky so far this one. Why? First of all because last year nearly all my 'chunk bets' were winners. And big odds ones too. This year the first really huge bet of mine that won was Paok +275 to beat Lynn this week. I think I said 'chunk bet' another 2 times this year and lost. However this isn't only that. I generally make plenty plays (especially in he beginning of the year I did) that could have some serious problems. I am geting to the point:
I read the papers a bit late to see that there are problems between Skazny (the coach of Ofi's) and his players. I thought they might lose to have him sacked but I wasn't very sure, and wanted to believe the council that supports him (although we all know that this is the last step before the sack). Just to be more on the 'safe' side I played the +0 line -115,instead of the -.5 line. I just was closing my eyes and ears to the info on motivation that I could have processed better (which I at least have done succesfull in the past). I was blinded by the 'on paper' value of the home team. Tired paok after Lynn match, better Ofi on paper this year, at -srong- home, where the tradition is all theirs. No Skazny isue and this should be easily fair line +0 -150. But the issue was there and I selected to ignore it. On matchday nI see Wiliamhill have Ofi still at +155. I started being worried. Then I saw a friend in my favourite team's match (we won 3-0 btw!!!). He is one of the worst bettors I know (but a great fan of my team and perfectly sensible person) who told me he has Paok to beat Ofi,because of the Skazny issue. I told him I have the other side which I don't like anymore. Match ended like 0-3 for paok, with no chances at all(either team) and aan even weaker than usual lineup for paok. If this match wasn't a fix to have Skazny sacked, I am Superman. This doesn't say much though, I am not unlucky to have a fix working against my bet, this was plain incompetence. I wouldn't have the other side anyway (ine was crazy) but should at least have seen coming that 'when it is to good to be true it probably is'.
I had the Wolves,Everton and Birmingham draws and if Chelsea hit too in a parlay I would have become rich overnight. Tough luck. Birmingham draw (+240 in Canbet) and Everton under would both be picks but I have this friend that I host (teamate in cards tourny) and din't have the time to post. Also the great line for Villa +.25 in Pinny. Chelsea also lost 2-1, to be honest i would expect themto lose farmoreifthey were tolose, after they equalised iseriously thought we will win this.
Last but not least we had igalew beating Pao 2-1. Again iwuld expect them to win bigger,in the case they are let to win (and not stopped by refs). This was a good +550 win though. So pick results are 3-1 (with lynn match) +5.25 units for a YTD: 27-31-2 +11.11 units. Probably undeserved.
