like Man U, especially mising 2 or 3 of their most important players for European matches purposes (Scholes, Keane and even Becks-who has of course left). This leaves them with 2 big stars on the field,oops 3: Giggs, the Van and Rio: ALL 3 ARE OVERRATED BECAUSE THEY PLAY IN ENGLAND. Giggs probably my favourite player all over the planet and has made UNBELIEVABLE GAMES in European Cups. Still, this was partially a fluke and looking at their technical skills the 3 should be overrated because they play in Premiership.
All that being said I think Man U will win this mainly because Panathinaikos is trying to play attacking football this year (first time after 1985,lol). If this was last year's Pao, this would be a BACK UP THE TRUCK play on Pao. But Pao have changed and if they try and match the 4-4-2 (which is what they will do most probably) they have a problem. Conclusion: Look for Man U to beat the shit out of Pao, but don't bother betting it. This is -EV. Man U has struggled at home against teams with much less European experience: Nantes, Maccabi etc and in times they were playing much beter attack. Now they will have to wait and see a bad defensive efort fronm Pao to make things easy for them. Although this is very likely to come (because this year's Pao is like this), still they haven't had bad defensive effort in European Cups for years. Avoid it.
