...But those %'s are an order of magnitude out. According to your %'s a bet on Panathinaikos has a 21*9.56 =200.76-100=100.76% edge. The draw would have a 52% * 4.69 =243.88 - 100 =143.88% edge. These are for average prices representing the consensus of bookmaker opinion. Reductio ad absurdum-your judgement is flawed. (Oh, and you can hedge Man U at the exchanges at 1.3 and make another bet with a 65% expectation)

The bookmaking industry does not screw up like this, ever, certainly not on multiple bets on the same event. If it had, you wouldn't be able to determine it with a cursory glance at the team sheet. If Panathiniakos do fluke a win or a draw, as is likely a significant % of the time, you will still be in error.
