Not always true. There is lots of public money bet on the Derby, and because of that, there are lots of high priced winners. Granted some horses that win the Derby have that as their only true highlight of their career, but some high priced Derby winners prove they were overlooked. Silver Charm is a perfect example of that. I agree WE will not win the triple crown, but he does have a better chance at the Preakness than the Belmont. I don't see them as equal odds. He wasn't pushed in the Derby, Pimlico favors front runners, and the Belmont is just too long for a front runner to be the true favorite. Plus if he should win the Preakness, someone will stick some early speed in the Belmont to blow him out.
