Chalk vs Longshots

There is little reason why overlays should not exist in equal distribution along the entire odds range, yet most I know myself included that have any degree of success find longshots much more lucrative to the bottom line. One could query a database till blue in the face and not come up with any truly predictive angles with a positive ROI.

Why I ask you, why????
