I've gone to the track with a lot of newbies- and I have to admit- ive never heard the first thing out of their mouth be- "hey- lets bet an exacta!"

It certainly stands to reason- given all the factors presented- that the straight WPS pools would be more profitable than the exotic pools.
Thats NOT TO SAY that the exotic pools cant be beat. You guys can argue that- all you want. I just dont understand why one would want/look to bet ALL exotics.
