Going with the Derby winner...

because my wife says so.:) Seriously, I noticed something watching the tape of the Derby. War Emblem wasn't pushed down the stretch by Espinosa. He just rode him home and he had a lot left. Granted the expected pace will take some out of him, but that looked like a strong horse. Also, all the speed horses are outside of him, so he shouldn't have a problem getting to the rail. Wet or dry, WE(8) is my pick, with a small pick on Crimson Hero(4) if he stays a DD longshot. Also going with an exacta box 4(Crimson Hero), 5(Medaglia D'oro), 8(WE). If it is a wet track, add USS Tinosa(1) to the above exacta box, and a small win bet if he is a DD favorite.
A friend of mine is probably the best horse guy I have ever seen. He is very tight about his picks, but I will see if I can get him to slide them over. He tipped me off on USS Tinosa having a great wet track pedigree, which by the looks of things, could be a factor, which is why I added him in there. That horse scares me. He could turn in a great effort, or he could dud out. He had a rough start in the SA Derby, but showed little the rest of the race, after a great effort finishing 2nd to Medaglia. Was he tired? Don't know, but if the track is wet, I would kill myself if I left him off.
