how does a rank beginner like myself get started? I saw a book at Amazon.com on professional poker play for Texas Hold 'em. Do you recommend any books for newbies?

And where should the first tournament be played? Online? Do you recommend an online site as being excellent for beginners or should I choose the site that the Binion's winner started out on?

As to physical tourneys, I live in Tampa but travel to north Jersey/NYC quite a bit. Are there any good tourneys in casinos near there, such as Seminole, FL. or Conneticut (the Indian reservations)?
