A couple of thoughts

In Response To: My question remains (Warren)

Its very difficult to win money in the long run playing tournaments alone.

A lot(and i did say a lot- NOT ALL) regular tournament players are looking for a big score- as opposed to a steady flow of income.

And most of these individuals- have a very hard time beating cash games.

In addition- there are very few top tournament players- who are also very good live game players- and vice versa.

They take very different skills to be successful.

So- all of that adds up to a lot of struggling 'tournament pros'.

On a side note- it might be important to keep in mind that 'broke' in our world- typically means something very different than in the real world.

As far as commenting on specific players financial situations- your guess is as good as mine.

But i KNOW- that the majority of players that have played at the final tables of the WPT (the US ones at least) are far from broke.

And- of course- can think of at least one- that owes a sum of money that is beyond comprehension.

Its also important to keep in mind- that these guys are typically very talented- and may have other 'leaks' that cause them to do poorly overall.
