adjusting your play.

On a recent trip I played some 10-20 HE.
I played 3 sessions of about 20 hours total.Although there was the occasional good player mostly the play was from bad to off the charts terrible.
Had one player who played every hand for 3 hours straight and another who raised every hand!I forgot to mention that the tables are often 10 handed and it isnt strange for 5-8 to see the flop without a raise.
The rake was pretty bad being 5% max 15!
But even so the play was so bad it was hard not to make money. Most of the time there may be just 1 good player at the table who wouldn`t play many hands but would be agressive if entering the pot.
The good player would wait for premium hands and make a profit for sure but my feeling is that I see many people who can`t adjust from a game with good players to a game with bad players.
(the key is also to adjust to individual players post flop)
You must not overdo it but you really want to try and isolate the bad players who you know on average have a much worse hand than you.
The key to playing less than premium cards is having a feel for "where you are at".
You try and use bets and raises for info just as much as for profit.example Flop is J J 9 rainbow
I have A9s, bad player in early bets I raise others fold and he just calls.
I "know" the vast majority of the time he either has a weaker 9, straight draw or a smaller pocket pair.
On average I am way ahead in this spot.D.
