Adware/Scumware?

In Response To: Make sure you download the right software (PerpetualCzech)

There are some programs they call scumware that will redirect you to one of their sites when you type in a certain site in a certain category. There is one called Gator, but there are several others. Maybe you have some malicious software on your computer?

You can download Spybot or Ad-Aware to help you get rid of these things.

I find it difficult to believe that Party Poker would have some other casino that you deposit with when signing up with Party Poker. I do not think that Party Poker would last very long as a website if this were happening.

Maybe you have some adware program on your computer?

Also, when you were installing, it should have said something about the casino. I mean at some point it must have said the casino before you sent them $500. It seems very odd to me that it would say "Party Poker" and then after you deposit $500 they tell you retroactively that you deposited $500 at some other casino.

The whole thing is unfortunate but I really do not think it is Party Poker's or SSB's doing whatsoever. I don't blame Party Poker for being difficult because it probably has nothing to do with them so they would not have any idea what was going on.

I have had people INSIST that BJ21 or SSB are giving them all kinds of pop-ups ads when we are not, because they probably have some scumware program on their computer. When I am confronted with it, I probably come across as giving poor customer service because I initially have no idea what they are talking about.

I will investigate this, however, but I really don't think that there is any cause for alarm on the part of anyone else. I think it is a problem on your local computer, or perhaps operator error. I am not saying it is, but those explanations seem significantly more likely to me than Party Poker misleading you into depositing with an Internet casino.
