Make sure you download the right software

I really have no idea how this happened, but here is a transcript of my conversation with a CS rep at PartyPoker which details my problem. I'm posting in so that others might avoid the same problem.

PerpetualCzech: I have a problem installing my software.

Nicole Bradman: Welcome to the customer service area of our website.

Nicole Bradman: Could you please tell me the error message that you get....

PerpetualCzech: Well, the software has installed actually ...

Nicole Bradman: okay....

PerpetualCzech: it's just that it's called "AceClub Casino Online"

PerpetualCzech: and there is no mention of Party Poker

PerpetualCzech: is this right?

Nicole Bradman: we are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you in this regard....

PerpetualCzech: that's ok, but how do i fix it?

Nicole Bradman: we see that you have not installed the correct software....

PerpetualCzech: the problem is that I have deposited $500 into it!

PerpetualCzech: well, i don't see where is went wrong - I clicked the "download now" link ...

PerpetualCzech: and this is what i got!

Nicole Bradman: Please hold while I look into your inquiry...

PerpetualCzech: ok

Nicole Bradman: what we would suggest you to do is call Ace club customer support or get in touch with them and explain the problem to them...

Nicole Bradman: they should be able to help you out

PerpetualCzech: ??

PerpetualCzech: come on, i got the software from a link on your site!

PerpetualCzech: how is that possible?

Nicole Bradman: when you go to www.partypoker.com and click on download, it would download the partypoker.com software

PerpetualCzech: i'll tell you the link I used to get to the download from

PerpetualCzech: can you tell me if you are affiliated with AceClub Casino at all?

Nicole Bradman: let me check that for you

Nicole Bradman: I have checked that for you and when I tried to download from the link that you gave me, it downloaded the partypoker.com software

Nicole Bradman: however, you could call Ace Club Casino on their customer care division at 1-800-391-4102

Nicole Bradman: they should be able to help you out

PerpetualCzech: ok, can I ask again if you are affiliated with Ace Club Casino?

PerpetualCzech: unfortunately I am in a country where i have no access to 1-800 numbers

Nicole Bradman: I am sorry but we are not affiliated to Ace Club Casino....

PerpetualCzech: is there any suggestion you would have on how I got there software from your site?

Nicole Bradman: I am sorry but the link that you gave me opens up a PartyPoker.com page...

PerpetualCzech: it did the same for me, too

PerpetualCzech: it clearly said "Party Poker" at the top of the page

PerpetualCzech: and when I clicked on "download here", Ace Club Casino software was installed on my computer

PerpetualCzech: and i deposited $50 0into the account there

PerpetualCzech: thinking that your poker games were somewhere included with the software

Nicole Bradman: we suggest that you search all the down loaded files in your Computer...

Nicole Bradman: and check if you have installed and downloaded the PartyPoker.com software as well....

PerpetualCzech: ok, while we were talking, I tried another link and now I have confirmed that your software is downloaded

PerpetualCzech: so there is no problem there

Nicole Bradman: Thank you so much...

PerpetualCzech: but my concern is the $500 I have given to a company that I have never heard of through a link on your site

Nicole Bradman: It is a relief to know that your problem is solved....

Nicole Bradman: we undersatnd your concern...

PerpetualCzech: i suspect that I have been deceived by some clever form of internet marketing

PerpetualCzech: can you please ask around if any other customer has complained to you about this problem with Ace Club Casino?

PerpetualCzech: my problem is NOT solved yet! :-)

Nicole Bradman: but we assure you that the link that we gave you was definitely that of PartyPoker.com....

PerpetualCzech: i understand that!

Nicole Bradman: I am sorry but we have had no such complaints at all...

PerpetualCzech: and this is exactly my problem!

PerpetualCzech: through this link I have somehow received Ace Club software

Nicole Bradman: we are so sorry to hear what you are going through...

PerpetualCzech: ok, well, it looks like i need to go to Ace Club Casino to solve my problem

PerpetualCzech: but at this pooint i am partially holding Party Poker responsible for my problem and I am disappointed you have no other suggestions for me

PerpetualCzech: i am just curious how you obtained the toll free number of Ace Club, can you tell me?

Nicole Bradman: we obtained it through the internet....

Nicole Bradman: we did a search and obtained it for you...

PerpetualCzech: ok, thanks for you help then
