when there is more games, does the skew disappear or get reduced?

in stocks, the skew of an index of stocks (meaning the probability of a crash) is greater than the skew of the average of the individual stocks, but that's due to an expected huge bump in correlation if a crash occurs.

If there is no expected difference in correlation between stocks (in the NHL case, between totals in different games), then I would expect the distribution of the sum of many games to start to look more like a normal distribution than average distribution of each of the games. I don't know if this is mathematically correct, it is just my intuition. Would like to know if this is right or not.
