Where one team in the contest would benefit most, (playoff position and other things), if they tied in regulation and went into overtime and lose. That is exactly what happened.

When I tried to explain what was transpiring to my friend he took his stance on how it couldn't possibly benefit them to lose in OT, blah blah blah (he is not very open minded, JUST COPY, is his favorite saying). I remember the game vividly because I was on the losing end of the game and the commentators were mentioning the very scenario in which this happened.
