Look at two team teasers. Basketball they are 4 point. Football 6 point. What they are saying in layman's terms is the line is alot more accurate in basketball, else you would see 6 point teasers in hoops. In hoops they have more games to take samples from. In football you have 12 samples for college, 16 for the NFL. They struggle to get teams lined right and suddenly the season is over. College football the STD Dev is higher.
