In Response To: Standard Deviation the best way to judge (Ben)

So you're saying that both college basketball and the NBA have very low SD and that college football and the NFL have higher SD with college a bit higher?

From what I can see, the SD was even higher for college football last season at 16.19 (the average points per game the line was off was 12). What is the difference between the SD and the mean error seen at the link I've provided? And what is the value of each?
