Power ratings not terribly important

I spent 2 years writing and fine tuning a computer program to give me very accurate power ratings. Then the spreads were the same as those given in Vegas! Occasionally I would get a break in the spread, usually
with an underrated team that had a poor record only because they were in a very tough division.

The Vegas lines are pretty sharp. I would not waste a lot of time on power ratings as that is what determines the spread and the spread in Vegas is very accurate. The power ratings really don't solidify until after the 1st 4 games, as well.

I would look at other statistics for an edge and trust Vegas to do it's job giving you an accurate spread.
