This is the acid test for Larry Brown's legacy in my mind. They chucked Carlisle, a bird in the hand, for him. We have no idea how Detroit is going to do. This may have been another instance where teams make transactions (DET/IND/PHI) that are bad for all of them.
If you think Indiana is not the favorite team in their division, then 9:1 may not be big enough. If they aren't seeded #2 they have a very good chance of being seeded #4-#5 due to teams in the Atlantic. That would blow your first round win percentage of 75%.
So if you think Detroit will be strong, Indiana at 9:1 may not be such a great bet. Detroit is a big question mark. Indiana will probably be a better team than last year. We don't know how much though.
