Agree that July has made the difference

Those data are very clear. Nor have I any grounds to dispute Stevie's claims about Hermanson's relative health or pitch usage. But it's worth noting that these explanations for his July performance are post hoc, and therefore not demonstrably useful in a predictive context.

What kind of performance should we predict for his start this weekend against the Marlins? Stevie says his change up is now working. Harv says that there is no indication Hermanson will slip. I say we shouldn't overinterpret performance variability, either across or within seasons. The best guess for how Hermanson will perform between now and the end of the season is obtained from aggregated data. In my opinion.

P.S. Harv, I moved in June from a southern state to StevieYland. When you get a chance to do a northern tour, let me know and maybe the three of us can take in a Tigers game.
