In Response To: Umpire stats (Harv)

and a little confusing. The skepticism Woolner expresses about the stability of umpire effects is belied, it seems to me, by BP's decision to keep updated umpire stats on their website. I hope he follows this up with a review of the SABR research that supposedly failed to find stable umpire effects.
