Sinker/slider pitchers

Sinker/slider pitchers don't necessarily throw a heavier ball. They get their advantage because most of the time, the only thing you can do with a good sinker is beat it into the ground. You hang a sinker, it will go a long way. There were two kinds of pitchers I liked to face, power pitchers and left handed jiffy juicers(hated lefties with hard breaking balls). I like power pitchers because I was a fastball hitter, I could turn around any fastball, and they like to try to rap their slider around your feet, a no no to throw a lefty down and in. I liked LH jiffy juicers because I could sit back and take them the other way. I hated RH sinker/slider pitchers because they were the only ones that truly had pitches that could be effective both ways, the sinker dropping away and the slider biting in, you really couldn't cheat on them.

Yeah, perception is major, but too much of a difference in speed won't matter, they go hand in hand. You give a hitter time to re-cock, goodnight. Changing the hitting plane goes right along with them both. Every motion has to be the same. That is the main reason why the changeup is the hardest pitch to hit in baseball. Show me someone with a great changeup, and I will show you a pitcher's pitcher. I'll be more than happy to face a guy bringing 95 straight as an arrow over a guy throwing 85 with late movement.
