1) It's colder. Hitting gets worse.
2) The remaining teams are all good pitching teams. Atlanta and Seattle are both good pitchers' parks.
3) The strike zone gets bigger in the playoffs.
4) Three of the four remaining managers are not the type to overmanage. They're not going to intentionally walk the bases loaded (something that is almost always a bad play). I can't vouch for Brenly.
5) Two of the four teams are free-swinging and don't walk much.
6) Not many real home run hitters in the playoffs left: Gonzalez, Chipper, and that's about it. The Indians had sluggers. The Astros had sluggers. The Cardinals had sluggers. Giambi's a slugger. They're all out.
