Wild Card/Worst Div Winners

Just more reinforcement for taking overpriced dogs in a short series. If someone would have told me that I would be betting on Cleveland to beat Seattle, I would have lost a lot of money on that prop. But at +240? I still may lose that bet (probably will!), but at that price, it's a good one.

Just more ammunition in the argument regarding baseball's format -- most meaningful regular season, least meaningful championship series (bad choice of words, but I think you know what I'm getting at).

Of course, Oakland this year really shouldn't count as a wild card. Easily the best team in baseball. Nobody, not even the vaunted Yanks, can touch their starters one through four. And one of the best offensive teams to go along with that pitching.
