Pitch count

It isn't always pitch count, it is how he feels. Sometimes you have more in you. It was a very humid day, that didn't help. One thing about Maddux that other pitchers don't do is he knows when he is about done, and he leaves before he hits the wall. It makes him better prepared for his next start, he never leaves it all on the field so he isn't ready 5 days later. If that was a do or die game or their bullpen was in shambles, he probably would have went at least 1 more inning. In the end, it worked out perfect.
