Watching him Sunday showed the power of advanced scouting(or is he having a pattern, bad month, good month, bad month, good month, bad month :) ). He was having a little problem spotting his changeup and Florida wasn't biting. If a hitter can lay off it, he will walk more guys(all pitchers will). He wasn't as sharp as his last 5 games, but that will happen to everyone. If that is one of his worst games, I think St Louis can live with that. That aside, his defense let him down Sunday, he pitched well enough to win(should have been a 3-2 when he left). I know it looked weird with Edmonds throwing the ball to 1st with no one around(and he should have seen that), but where in the hell was McGwire? Being a 1st basemen, I wonder why he was already heading in for the cut. It was a routine play for Edmonds, plus he doesn't have to be there to line him up as you are taught as a kid, he can see the plate, he only has to get there to cut it if necessary. Wow, we are spending a lot of time breaking down a #3(4 with Williams now?), starter. What's next, Tatis and Reames?:) It was a weird weekend in baseball, lots of fundamental breakdowns, a catcher getting tossed for not throwing the ball back to the pitcher, and another pitcher went head hunting.
