It may not be in the Mets best interest to have Phily and Atlanta playing the last series, unless they are a game out of first or better. If they are a game out and Phily and Atlanta are tied, they need to sweep to force a playoff, no chance of both Atlanta and Phily losing twice(and with the way both of them are playing right now, you would rather have them playing separately where they can both lose the same night). If they are 2 out(in 3rd place), they need a lot of help to force a 3 way tie. Any farther than 2 games out and they are eliminated. As long as both Phily and Atlanta are ahead of them, they would be better off having them in separate series.
