of those who get into this racket are successful pro-handicappers and actually do it fulltime? I used to do quite a bit of handicapping of the ponies and was always amazed by the ridiculous claims of success by other players. Also, you take a walk into the GBC and see walls of books devoted to horseracing esoterica which ultimately leads no-where. There's more horseshit between the pages of these books than there is in all the horse stalls at Aquaduct. I imagine this " syndrome " of much ado about horseshit applies to sports betting also---uh?

How in the world do you separate the chaff from the wheat when it comes to any of this handi-capping " analysis "? Granted, the vig in sports betting is considerably less than the track take, but then I would guess that the smarts go where the dollars are and it is only those privileged few, who have an individual genuis for this sort of intuitive/experiential, yet highly rational grasp of information, that end up taking the cream home to mama. And in the end, can you believe anyone who touts anything, anymore than you can believe the broker on wallstreet who makes his living not off the stock he wants you to buy, but off THE WORDS about the stock he's trying to sell you to make his commission.

Wong and Shlesinger are highly respected math/computer/carcounting gurus who have a nose for where the money grows, but now I'm hearing that neither of them can stand on their own two feet when it comes to producing sports profits. They aren't spring chickens--what took them this long to come this far, yet still not have the where-with-all to bring the bacon home on their own merits and methods. At least Wong's record is public, and I've always found him to be honorable, but what's this love affair going on between Shlesinger and this Gordon guy--is it all about love or is there a stash of cash under the mattress on Shlesinger's side of the bed?
