I missed this post, where you ask me how the Skins are going to do post-George.

They still have no offense. Worse, they can't stop the run, and if every mediocrity turns into Earl Campbell facing the Redskins, they're going to lose every game.

The real real problem is that Schottenheimer had lost the respect of the team. He cut some popular and effective veterans for no particular reason, stepped on the popular Green's retirement announcement by announcing the same day that he wouldn't be starting, and had been pulling chickenshit moves like making veteran players lift weights at a particular time of day.

That said, I didn't pull the trigger on KC last week (KC was bad enough to scare me), and I'm reluctant to pull the trigger this week against the Redskins because Schottenheimer allegedly had a clear-the-air session with the team where everyone is saying the right things. But it's not clear if that's effective team PR (reading between the lines this was the impression I got), or if Schottenheimer is making a Vermeil-style correction in his approach. I'm going to pay close attention to the Redskins this week -- if New Jersey beats the spread, it's time to throw in the towel and back up the truck on every anti-Redskins bet possible.

I will collect on my Giants/Eagles to win NFC East bet, and I will collect on my Redskins U 7.5 +150 bet. The only issue left is whether this is a 0-16 team or a 4-12 team.
