Being better than the line

That is the only thing that matters. If your line had Florida St at -13 last week and you took N Carolina +17, you weren't 49 pts better than the line, you were just about as off as the books, you were just enough better than the books to matter for that day. It works both ways, if you had FSU -21 and took the -17, you weren't that much off the person who had -13, you just got the wrong side of the number. Show me someone who stepped up before gametime and said "NC will win by 32", and I will show you someone who was 49 pts better than the line. The measure is how close the final score comes from the line you make. Beat the books consistently there, you should be fine.
