Your point is well taken - I am trying to have more wins than losses every week, and that's what ultimately counts, and not the margin of victory.
I guess what it comes down to is that, after that game, I reevaluated the two teams' respective defenses, and felt that they were both weaker than I believed previously. That's probably a better response on my part, than calling it a bad bet.

One thing I was getting at ( I guess I was too sleepy to finish the thought) is that some wins, narrow or not, could come about through flawed handicapping. Conversely, some of those big margin losses could come about through solid handicapping but fluky games (uncharacteristically large number of turnovers in enemy territory for a high positive turnover ratio team, etc.).

I do find this entire thread very interesting, however.
