Safin vs Sampras

Safin is the 3 seed, Sampras is the 10 seed.
Safin is ranked lower than Sampras in the ATP rankings (19 vs 23 or something like that). Safin won the U.S. Open last year. Sampras is well known, and is an American playing in the U.S. Open. I've gotta believe he's a fan favorite. Sampras is nearing the end of his career. I have no idea about Safin.

The best lines I saw were Sampras -220, Safin +210. I know next to nothing about Tennis, except for what I listed above. But I've got to think that Safin +210 is at worst a fair bet with zero ev....and at best, a small winner...as it seems the public sentiment is clearly for Sampras.

Any tennis experts out there?
