candaian sportsbook!?

I do not think that there are any legal sportsbooks in Canada, excluding the crappy betting products offered by the lotteries. There are however many online casinos and sportsbooks with Canadian ownership or involvement. Also many casino and sportsbooks have payouts issued from Canada. Most of these come from companies located on the Kanawake native reserve. There is now in fact the "Kanawake gaming commission" Who give their mark of approval to some of these online operations. Just for fun I did a trace on some online casinos a while ago, and it appears that quite a few actually have their servers located in Canada! This is shaky ground from a legal standpoint, however the Canadian government does not seem that interested in online gaming at this time, and would appear to be turning a blind eye. I think this may change in the near future with the recent news that some provinces are planning to start online lotteries of their own. I believe that ultimatebet.com, a poker/sportsbetting site is using a Kanawake company to issue payouts. Phil.
