Example please?

I can't seem to convey my idea of "Risk is too big, ok to hedge" very well. Either that or we are just in disagreement here. Oh well...let's leave that be.

Also, let's leave the Cubs/Astros and Sea/Oak examples alone for now.

But I still don't understand your statement "I didn't mean to say that you hedge every bet you think has lost its edge, but that is the only reason. I was talking more in the subject of future bets, where things have lots of time to change"

Can you think of an example where your reasoning exists for a hedge to be worthwile without one of my two reasons for hedging ("Risk too big" & "Hedge bet is something you would've done by itself") coming into play? I can't ... every time I think of something, I usually run into one or the other.

I'm not trying to be a flamer or anything like that...just trying to see your point.
