What I was saying was only hedge if something has changed your mind about your current bet. It doesn't mean you think the other side is the way to go, just that you feel your current bet is not a good one. Maybe the Oakland/Seattle was a bad example because having any team in the playoffs(Seattle) at 30-1 to win the pennant is a good bet. The only reason to hedge a bet is if you feel your original bet has lost its luster. Your example of Balt 40-1 to win the SB and they are a pk in the SB, I'll take that any day. If your risk is too big, you shouldn't have done it in the first place. Playing with scared money is not the way to go. If you bet that much in August, why should it scare you 1 game away?
