C'mon Don! Would you recommend this for blackjack? Since virtually all of these guys are just flipping coins anyway, the season variance isn't predictable.
But please let me know if you find a low-variance guy, even if he hits 50% per season. Then I will wait until he hits 45% for the first half, confident he will hit 55% in the second half. Or the reverse. A high variance guy would be good too, because he will follow a 45% first-half with even worse performance and I can fade him.
I was annoyed with Stanford because I thought he misused statistics. But now you are doing the same thing!
