Any number of factors can affect these. The volatility of lines is highest in the first 4 weeks, as there is not much data available.

Injuries can play a decisive factor. Dolezel, the QB for LV that seemed healthy, was placed on injured reserve. The LV-NY game opened at NY-3x, and is currently at -10x. I wouldn't be surprised to see it close at -13.

Another factor is "market mentality". There are a few posters on the RX giving selections, and a lot of people seem to be blindly following them. It's not important if they are right - only that the market seems to believe them. I'd be reluctant to follow anyone recommending teasers or parleys in Arena though - even if you are getting 2-team teasers at +7.5 and -110.

If you can guess which way the line will move, you can get a ton of equity on these.
